How important is stability in coffee flavor after all?

Fotis Vlachakis, Harvest Coffee Roasters’ CEO, explains to us…

Stability in both taste and performance of a coffee is crucial for several reasons, especially for someone who operates as a taster, barista trainer and co-owner of a coffee chain. As a coffee professional, my experience has shown that consistency is the key to success and customer satisfaction.

Firstly, consistent taste ensures customer trust. When customers know they will receive the same high quality and taste each time they visit our stores, a solid base of loyal customers is created. This trust is invaluable as it enhances the image of the business and helps the maintenance and growth of the customer base.

Secondly, consistency in performance is equally important for barista training. A well-trained barista should be able to produce a coffee with the same quality and taste every time. This requires consistent quality control and equipment as well as the ability to identify and correct any deviations. As a barista trainer, my mission is to ensure that my team understands the importance of precision and consistency in brewing coffee.

Thirdly, maintaining stability contributes to the efficient management of the coffee chain. A stable and reliable coffee brewing process reduces waste and improves operational efficiency. In addition, it allows a better forecasting of raw material needs and ensures continuity in suppling high quality products.

Finally, consistency in taste and performance reinforces our professional credibility and commitment to quality.

In summary, stability in the taste and performance of a coffee is not just an option, but a necessary condition for success and growth in the field of coffee making. A commitment to consistency ensures customer satisfaction, continuous employee training and efficient business operation.
